82-Year-Old Man Dies From Injuries After Stoughton Crash

Update: The 82-year-old man who was hit by a car earlier this week in Stoughton has died. Police ID'd the man as Joaquin Soares of Stoughton.

Original: An 82-year-old man remained hospitalized after he was hit by a car in Stoughton on Thursday evening, Aug. 22, authorities said. 

A car crashed into the man just before 6:15 p.m. as he walked along Central Street, between Turnpike and Lincoln streets. 

Paramedics rushed the man to Boston Hospital, where he remained Friday. 

Authorities did not release the man's name or update his condition.

The Brockton driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. 

No charges have been filed, but the crash remains under investigation.
